Senior Developer (.NET / Azure)

Location: Hybrid – London (1–2 days per month)

Salary: £80,000 – £110,000 (depending on experience)

Overview

Our client is a high-growth SaaS scale-up transforming the world of money transfer and payements.

Following consistent year-on-year revenue growth and successful Series A funding, the business is entering its next phase of international expansion.

To support this growth, they are seeking a Senior Developer to join their Core Engineering Team, helping scale a modern platform supporting real-time payments and financial transactions across a rapidly expanding global customer base.

This role is ideal for a hands-on developer who enjoys solving complex technical challenges, designing scalable systems, and building robust production-grade software in a regulated financial services environment.

The Role

As a Senior Developer, you will play a key role in enhancing and scaling the core platform.

Working closely with the CTO and Head of Integration, you will take ownership of new features and subsystems within a large modern microservices architecture.

The engineering team operates using a Kanban-based Agile model with continuous delivery, enabling rapid iteration and deployment of new features.

This is a hands-on coding role, suited to developers who enjoy writing clean, well-structured, testable code and seeing their work delivered into production.

Key Responsibilities

•  Extend and maintain .NET Core 9/10 applications and microservices supporting real-time payment processing
•  Design secure and scalable backend architectures for API-driven financial systems
•  Build integrations supporting money transfers, card payments, savings functionality and Mastercard integration

Work across a modern Azure SaaS stack including:

• Azure SQL
• Azure Blob Storage
• Azure Redis
• Azure Service Bus
• Azure FrontDoor

Collaborate with the Operations team to improve automation and reduce third-line support overhead. Contribute to BAU operational tickets (~15% of workload). Work within a Kanban-based Agile environment focused on continuous delivery. 

Required Experience

• Strong C# / .NET Core (9/10) development experience
• Experience designing RESTful API-led architectures
• Experience working with high-volume OLTP systems
• Experience developing low-latency real-time payment, banking or financial services systems
• Strong experience designing solutions using Microsoft Azure cloud services
• Agile / Kanban development experience with a continuous delivery mindset
• Strong MS SQL expertise and relational database design knowledge
•  Experience using Azure DevOps and Git

Desirable Experience

• Angular front-end development
• Infrastructure as Code (IaC) on Azure
• Mobile development using .NET MAUI (iOS / Android)
•  Experience working within SOC 2 or ISO 27001 environments
• Experience working within software consultancies, software houses, or distributed international development teams
