Role Overview
We are supporting a leading analytics and data-led organisation in the search for a Senior Business Analyst with deep insurance domain expertise.
This role sits at the intersection of business, data, and technology, supporting the delivery of Enterprise Data Management (EDM) and Analytics solutions across insurance-focused programmes. You’ll work closely with both business stakeholders and technical delivery teams to translate complex insurance requirements into scalable, high-quality data and process solutions.
The successful candidate will bring strong knowledge across insurance operations (policies, claims, premiums, reinsurance and London Market processes) alongside hands-on experience in data management, analytics, and governance.
Key Responsibilities
Requirements & Business Analysis

Lead the elicitation, documentation, and validation of business, functional, and data requirements

Perform gap analysis between current and target processes, data structures, and system capabilities

Translate business needs into user stories, process flows, and detailed specifications

Conduct source data analysis and data profiling to assess quality, completeness, and consistency
Data Management & Governance

Develop and maintain data dictionaries, business glossaries, and metadata artefacts
-
Define and document business rules for data acquisition, transformation, integration, and quality controls

Support data lineage, master data, and reference data management initiatives
-
Identify opportunities to improve data governance, data quality, and operational efficiency
Reporting & Analytics

Capture reporting, analytics, and data visualisation requirements with business stakeholders
-
Analyse trends and insights to support decision-making and process optimisation
-
Collaborate with data engineering and BI teams to validate outputs against business expectations
Stakeholder Management & Delivery
-
Act as a key liaison between business users, technical teams, and data specialists

Communicate progress, risks, and issues clearly across multiple stakeholder groups

Support delivery roadmaps, prioritisation, and dependency planning

Participate in UAT and change management activities to ensure successful adoption
Essential Experience & Skills
-
5+ years’ experience as a Business Analyst within the Insurance sector

Strong understanding of insurance operations, including London Market processes and data flows
-
Proven experience delivering Enterprise Data Management, Data Warehousing, Data Governance, or Data Quality initiatives

Hands-on experience with requirements gathering, business process documentation, and data profiling

Excellent communication, analytical, and stakeholder engagement skills
Desirable Experience

Degree in Business, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or similar

Experience with modern data platforms and tools (e.g. cloud data services, data lakes/warehouses, BI tools, data governance platforms)

Exposure to Agile / Scrum delivery environments

Working knowledge of SQL or data query tools

Familiarity with insurance regulatory and compliance reporting
