Hybrid role | West London / Thames Valley

Salary: £100k – £130k + benefits and bonus

This role sits within the Consulting practice, with clear expectations around personal utilisation and the ability to identify opportunities within client engagements that can be fed back into the Business Development function.

Due to continued growth, the Consulting teams are expanding. As a Principal Consultant, you will be responsible for leading projects from a technical perspective, ensuring consistently high standards of delivery.

There will be occasions where travel is required, including visits to client sites across the UK and occasionally overseas, which may involve nights away from home.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical leadership and governance for consultants working across multiple client projects

  • Proactively drive high-quality deliverables using appropriate technologies and best practices

  • Lead engagement delivery and collaborate with Business Development to support sales opportunities

  • Shape and manage project scope to ensure delivery on time and within budget

  • Identify and raise risks or issues where required

  • Help develop internal processes, standards, and service offerings to improve efficiency and quality

  • Maintain and support relevant certifications and accreditations aligned to business strategy

  • Act as a technical escalation point for delivery teams

  • Work closely with strategic clients, providing guidance and meeting high expectations

  • Mentor and support internal delivery team members, ensuring quality assurance and client satisfaction


Technical Skills

You will have experience in some of the following and be able to learn new technologies quickly:

  • Microsoft Azure data services such as Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Databricks and/or Microsoft Fabric

  • Designing, building and managing data warehouses and implementing Lakehouse architectures

  • Designing and implementing ETL / ELT processes

  • Python for data loading, analysis and machine learning

  • Familiarity with Hadoop and Spark for large-scale data processing

  • Advanced use of Power BI for data visualisation and presentation

  • Strong understanding of statistical methods and predictive modelling


Project Delivery Experience

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience with Microsoft data technologies

  • 8+ years’ professional services experience in a client-facing environment

  • Strong understanding of BI and data warehousing concepts

  • Experience with data modelling, data structures, databases, and ETL/ELT processes

  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills

  • Ability to articulate requirements to both technical and non-technical audiences

  • Experience delivering projects in an agile environment


Experience & Skills Required

  • Proven experience leading teams and delivering exceptional client outcomes

  • Commercial experience supporting pre-sales activities, including estimation and scoping of Statements of Work

  • Strong ability to build and maintain long-term client relationships

  • Excellent written and spoken English

  • Strong strategic and operational decision-making capability

  • Outstanding interpersonal and presentation skills

  • Ability to guide, influence, and mentor others

  • Strong problem identification and opportunity-spotting skills
