SAS Subject Matter Expert (SME)

We’re hiring: SAS Subject Matter Expert (SME) – Northampton or London (Hybrid)

Location: Northampton or London (Hybrid – 3–4 days onsite)
Contract: 7 months, FTC or Umbrella Contractor, Inside IR35

A leading global FSI business is looking for a senior SAS SME to lead a critical platform migration programme from Cloudera to AWS. This is a hands-on, strategic role where you’ll define the SAS architecture, ensure seamless migration, and provide technical leadership across multiple teams.

What you’ll do:

• Lead current-state and target-state SAS architecture aligned to AWS.

• Repoint SAS workloads (ETL, models, analytics, reporting) from Cloudera to AWS.

• Provide guidance on code compatibility, refactoring, and modernization opportunities.

• Ensure solutions are secure, scalable, and compliant with banking regulations.

• Act as the technical authority, collaborating with architects, data engineers, and stakeholders.

What we’re looking for:

• 10+ years of SAS experience (SAS 9 / Viya, CAS, Visual Analytics, Model Manager).

• Proven track record of large-scale SAS migrations or cloud transitions.

• Strong AWS knowledge and experience with cloud-based data architectures.

• Understanding of banking regulatory and security requirements.

• Strong communication skills and senior-level stakeholder management.

• Eligible to work in the UK.
