Principal Consultant – Business Objects / Financial Services
Location: 2 days onsite (London & South East) with flexibility for remote working

We are seeking an experienced Principal Consultant with deep expertise in Business Objects (BO),
Crystal Reports, and SQL to lead and support a major Financial Services Management client.
This is a client-facing, leadership role that combines technical oversight with relationship
management and team leadership. Our client are happy to provide training and support for this hire to move to the Azure Data and Analytics Services stack.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead & Manage: Oversee and manage a small offshore team ( 2 resources) ensuring
delivery quality, alignment with client priorities, and knowledge transfer. - Legacy System Support: Provide expert support for legacy Business Objects /Business Objects Data Services (BODS), Crystal Reports
and SQL environments, ensuring stability, performance, and “keep the lights on” continuity. - Client Engagement: Act as the principal point of contact for the client, ensuring effective
communication, expectation management, and high levels of satisfaction. - Consultancy & Advisory: Provide strategic guidance on BI/Reporting transformation, identifying
opportunities to modernise legacy solutions and add value. - Team Leadership: Mentor, support, and guide both onsite and offshore team members;
encourage professional growth and collaboration. - Stakeholder Management: Build strong, trusted relationships with senior stakeholders, influencing
outcomes and ensuring consultancy is seen as a strategic partner.
Skills & Experience
- Proven experience in Business Objects (BO), Business Objects Data Services (BODS) , Crystal Reports, and SQL in Financial Services
(ideally Asset Management). - Track record of leading offshore teams and managing cross-border delivery.
- Strong client-facing consultancy experience with excellent communication and stakeholder
management skills. - Ability to balance hands-on technical support with strategic advisory responsibilities.
- Experience managing relationship at principal / director level.
- Strong leadership, influencing, and mentoring capabilities
